Q. How many parent units can I have with the one baby unit?

A. you are only able to have one parent unit

Q. My parent unit is beeping at me

A. This could be that the batteries need to be recharged, place the parent unit on the

charger to recharge the batteries. You could also be out of range of the baby unit, try moving closer to the baby unit.

Q. My parent unit is beeping and showing low batt

A. The batteries need to be recharged, place the unit back on the charger

Q. I can’t hear any noise coming through the parent unit, why?

A. Check that the sensitivity is correctly set on the parent unit and that the volume is set to a suitable level.

Q. The temperature is flashing and beeping all the time, why?

A. This is showing you that the temperature is out of the set range either too high or too low

And if the unit is beeping then the temperature alert is set to on. If you set the alert to off

Then the beeping will stop and only the temperature will flash.

Q. The parent unit won’t turn on, why?

A. take out the batteries from the parent unit and turn off the baby monitor – leave it off

For 1 hour and then reconnect the unit. Are the batteries fully charged– try a full recharge of 14 hours.

Q. My Batteries are not lasting the recommend hours, why?

A. Check the date of purchase as the batteries may need to be replaced. It is also advisable to leave parent unit off the charger and let batteries run until you hear the low battery warning when in normal use.

Q. the screen is blank, why?

A. Try a reset on the unit, take out the batteries out of the handset and the power from the baby unit. leave it like this for 12 hours and then reconnect the power and install the batteries.

Q: Will my neighbours be able to hear what is going on in my baby's room if they also have a baby monitor?

A: The Oricom range of baby monitors use the latest digital technology that ensures the radio communication between the baby unit and the parent unit cannot be listened to by radio scanners or even a baby monitor of the same type.

Q: Do the units run on mains power or batteries?

The baby unit is powered with a mains power adaptor, but alkaline batteries (not supplied) can also be installed to power the baby unit in the event of a power failure. The parent unit, which is required to be portable, is powered byrechargeable batteries, which are re charged by the mains power when placed in the charger cradle. The operating time of the parent unit is approximately 10 hours on fully charged batteries.

Q: What is the maximum distance between the baby unit and the parent unit?

DECT technology will give you the best range in a residential environment. The range is effected by the materials used in the homes construction, but typically a distance of up to 50 meters can be expected. Up to 300 meters is possible in optimum conditions.

Q: If my parent unit batteries go flat, can I put ordinary alkaline batteries in the unit?

No, you should never put alkaline batteries in the parent unit, even if it is intended to be only for a short time. The reason is if you forget to remove them and place the parent user on the charger cradle, the batteries will leak and will damage the parent unit beyond repair. In some circumstances the batteries may even catch fire. USE ONLY RECHARGEABLE BATTERIES OF THE SAME TYPE AND SPECIFICATION AS THOSE ORIGINALLY SUPPLIED.

The Oricom range of baby units use DECT technology which operates on 1.88GHz to 1.9GHz and is exclusively used by DECT products. The DECT standard minimizes the possibility of interference to ensure secure, clear sound.
